Useful Fiction: Why Universities Need Middlebrow Literature
WEBSITES
In 1997, I first started working on websites as an intern for the UCLA Alumni Association. I joined a small website project team that met weekly to re-design the entire site from a few dozen pages to several hundred. The following summer, as an intern for the U.S. Senate Democratic Leadership, I worked on daily updates (press releases, statements, etc.) for the websites of several U.S. Senators. As a graduate student in the UCLA English Department, I designed the websites for the Americanist Research Colloquium, a research group for American literature faculty and graduate students at UCLA, and for Professor Mark McGurl.
